Simone Petal Dawn Huggins
President, Board of Directors
As we close another year, I extend warm greetings and sincere thanks.
This year has been one of purposeful progress – anchored in people, guided by strong governance, and informed by a clear vision for the future. At our Annual General Meeting in May, we reflected on a journey defined by trust, resilience, and service. As the year ends and a new one begins, those same principles remain our compass.
RHAND continues to demonstrate that financial strength and member care are not competing priorities, but complementary ones. Our sound financial performance, disciplined risk management, and strategic decisions have strengthened the institution, ensuring that we remain well-positioned to serve members not only today, but well into the future. These outcomes are the result of deliberate leadership, dedicated staff, and a shared commitment to cooperative values.
Equally important has been our continued focus on members. Whether through expanded access, enhanced engagement, or improvements driven by digital transformation, our efforts this year have been centred on delivering a more responsive, efficient, and human-centred credit union experience. RHAND exists because of its members, and every step we take is guided by that responsibility.
As we look ahead to 2026, we do so with both confidence and realism. There is growing consensus–locally and globally–that the coming year may be characterised by economic, technological, and social uncertainty. While we cannot control every external factor, we can control how prepared we are and how we support those who rely on us.
RHAND is committed to helping all members navigate any future uncertainty with clarity, confidence, and care. This means maintaining financial stability, offering prudent and innovative products, strengthening financial education, and continuing to listen closely to the evolving needs of our membership. In times of change, the role of a credit union becomes even more vital–as a trusted partner, a source of guidance, and a pillar of stability.
To the members of our Board and Committees, thank you for your stewardship, oversight, and unwavering dedication to good governance. To Management and Staff, your professionalism, adaptability, and service ethic continue to be the heartbeat of this institution. To our Members, thank you for your trust and engagement–your belief in RHAND is what gives purpose to everything we do.
As the year ends, let us move forward united in purpose, grounded in our cooperative tradition, and confident in our collective ability to face whatever lies ahead. Together, RHAND will continue building futures, honouring tradition, and supporting our members through both opportunity and uncertainty.
On behalf of the Board of Directors, I wish you and your families a safe, peaceful, and prosperous 2026.
May God bless you all and thank you for being part of the RHAND family.
Warm regards,
Simone Petal Dawn Huggins
