RHAND Credit Union Co-operative Society Limited held a Special General Meeting on Saturday, November 14, 2009, to discuss “Insurance Coverage for Loans” using a simulcast between its offices in Trinidad (Head Office – POS) and the Tobago Branch.
The General Manager, Mr. David Maynard, presented information on RHAND’s payments to CUNA (the current provider of the facility) and claims refunded, a difference of some Two Million Dollars. Based on discussions that ensued from the General Manager’s presentation, Mr. J. Lewis – Retiree, called on the Chairman of the meeting, Mr. T. Percival, to propose a motion to the meeting to allow RHAND to internally manage its Insurance Coverage for Loans. The Chairman complied and the motion was passed by the required ¾ majority of the members present.
The Board of Directors, Management and Staff of RHAND Credit Union Co-operative Society Limited would like to thank all the members, especially members of the Retiree’s Group who attended the meeting, for their continued support and participation as we strive to make RHAND’s operation more effective and satisfy our members’ needs.
It must be clearly noted that consistent with paragraph 3 (a) (iii) of RHAND Bye-Laws members continue to enjoy loan protection cover at no direct cost to them.
