RHAND’s Annual Children’s Christmas Party 2009 (Trinidad) was held at the Eastern Regional Sports Complex on Sunday 6th December 2009. The venue was spacious and facilitated a more centralized layout than previous years’ locations. Therefore, we were able to comfortably accommodate a steady flow of approximately 3,000 members and their children throughout the course of the day.
Torrential rain caused a minor delay to the official 11:00am start time of the party. Nevertheless by about 12:00noon, the proceedings were in full swing; children moving eagerly from booth to booth with their parents. Upholding our tradition, each child was treated to the customary toy, snack bag and light refreshments. Activities included: face painting; costumed characters; and a bouncy castle for the little ones. The older children kept themselves entertained at the arcade with interactive Wii games which they thoroughly enjoyed.
RHAND’s Tobago family held their party at the Mason Hall Secondary School, between the hours of 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. There were 188 members registered accounting for approximately 500 children. The venue was filled to its capacity as this was the only Children’s Christmas Party on the island that day.
Smiles were both bountiful and ubiquitous; the sounds of children’s laughter filling the air. This was the desired effect we sought and therefore can safely say that both Christmas parties were successful in spreading Christmas Cheer to the minds and hearts of all in attendance.
May you have a Happy, Holy and Peaceful Christmas!
