Important Update: Progress on Group Health Plan Renewal

As a follow-up to our initial notice on the RHAND Group Health Plan (GHP) renewal and our virtual townhall held on May 15th, we are pleased to provide you with an update on the progress made toward securing a more favourable outcome for our members.

What’s New?

RHAND has been working diligently to minimize the impact of the proposed premium increases originally set to take effect on June 1, 2025. We are pleased to share that:

• Arrangements are being finalized with a new insurance provider and broker.
• This new solution will result in a substantially lower premium increase than originally projected.
• While there will be slight adjustments to the benefit structure, members can look forward to significantly improved service delivery, including:
  • Better responsiveness
  • Enhanced claims support
  • A more member-centric experience

What This Means for You

At this stage, no action is required on your part. Once all details have been confirmed, we will share a formal announcement that includes:

• Final premium rates
• Updated benefit schedule
• Instructions for the transition (if applicable)
