SECONDARY ENTRANCE ASSESSMENT (SEA) AWARDS 2010
RHAND Credit Union hosted its Annual Secondary Entrance Assessment (SEA) Awards function on Thursday, September 02, 2010 in Trinidad. The venue for this signal event was the Credit Union’s Rooftop facility at its Head Office (#57-61 Abercromby Street, Port of Spain). In Tobago, the event was hosted on Thursday, August 26, 2010, at the branch office on Bacolet Street, Scarborough.
In Trinidad, Mr. Steve Williams – Manager, Student Support Services Division, Ministry of Education was the Featured Speaker. He delivered a very spirited address to the Awardees in the form a story of frogs climbing a mountain; the moral being that the frog that reached the top was the one that was deaf and did not hear the negative comments of others and thus remained focused on his goal of reaching the top. He also urged the parents to fuel their children’s vision and to give them encouraging words.
Mr. Ezekiel Yorke, RHAND’s 2010 Youth Calypso Monarch provided the evening’s entertainment.
In Tobago, Mr. Hubert De Lancy (father of Chantelle De Lancy – an RHAND Secondary Entrance Assessment Awardee 2002 and Secondary Achievement Awards Awardee 2007) delivered the Feature Address. He spoke to the Awardees about the “tools” and preparation which ensured his daughter’s success and urged them to emulate her efforts and guided them to listen to their parents without question as they had more experience. Additionally, he urged the parents to continuously support their children.
Ms. Gabrielle Yorke (Past SEA Awardee2007) and Divine Ministers provided entertainment for the evening.
RHAND Credit Union wishes to congratulate all our Awardees for 2010 and to urge them to stay on the path to success on which they have put their first footprints. Congratulations – You Did It!!!
