The RHAND Entrepreneurship Development (R.E.D.) Programme aims to equip members who either own a business or are thinking of starting one, with the necessary business concepts to ensure the sustainability, growth and success of their businesses. It was developed by Mr. Hayden Blades of Business Insight Limited (former senior economist of the RBTT Group, who has over twelve years of experience in the financial sector) in collaboration with RHAND’s Management Team.
RHAND Credit Union hosted the Graduation Ceremony for R.E.D. on Wednesday November 03, 2010 at 5:00pm at its Rooftop facility, 57-61 Abercromby Street, Port of Spain. The Graduation marked the culmination of four consecutive Saturdays (9:00am to 5:00pm) of hard work on the part of twenty-five dedicated members who took instruction, guidance and tutelage from Mr. Hayden Blades. Each participant gained knowledge on the fundamental business concepts required to successfully run a business and each developed a business plan.
Mr. Trevor Percival (Vice President) welcomed the graduates and he was followed by Mr. Martin Minguell (President) who spoke to them about their risk tolerance i.e. whether they were risk averse or risk takers. He encouraged them to go beyond receipt of the Certificate for the programme to actually opening their own business. Mr. Hayden Blades was the “proud parent” expressing his pride and satisfaction that the graduates took the programme seriously. He stated that in so doing, they had empowered themselves to actively participate in the country’s wealth. Mr. Ainsley Andrews – Manager, Credit Administration completed the addresses by guiding the graduates as to some of the “next steps”-registration of a business, payment of taxes and loan accessibility. Feedback from the graduates was positive and all commended RHAND for hosting this programme for them and at this time. Yes, another proud moment for RHAND Credit Union, another RHAND FIRST!
