Congratulations goes out to all our young and successful awardees. RHAND in its dedication of promoting the educational achievements of children of its members hosted its annual SEA awards function on Thursday August 18th, 2011 on the Rooftop facility of the credit union. Fifteen (15) outstanding students were awarded scholarships for their academic excellence in the SEA examination.
Chairperson Mrs. Yolande Cumberbatch-Bobb started off the afternoon’s proceedings at 4:30 with a hearty round of applause for the dignitaries of this special function. In recognition of their achievement the President of the credit union, Mr. Martin Minguell gave words of encouragement to the awardees in their continued persistence of greatness. “The journey now start” a dance in its truest reflection was performed by one of our Vacation internship participants Ms. Shammah Taylor and her sister which was very much appreciated by those in attendance. Mr. Don La Foucade motivational speaker delivered the spirited feature address, “In full Flight!. His unorthodox style of delivery captured the attention of all present. Poetry and rhymes highlighted his message with the use of inspirational anecdotes such as “a bend in the road is not the end of the road unless you miss the turn”. Mr. Trevor Percival, Chairman Education Committee made a heart felt toast to the awardees in closing of the ceremony.
