Pre-requisites
- Can operate a sewing machine
- Knows basic hand stitches
- Able to identify the symbols and construction markings used in pattern drafting.
- Read a tape measure

Week 1: Body Measurements
- Analyse the human figure & types | Measurements required for the hip length bodice
Week 2: Bodice draft
- Draft bodice | Dart manipulation | Construct bodice
Week 3: Fit and Alterations
- Front: Gaping armhole | High/low bust | Princess line
- Back: Poor fit | Broad back | Rounded back | Rounded back
Week 4: Sleeve
- Draft | Setting | Fitting and alterations | Crown
Week 5: Necklines

Week 6: Facings

Objectives
At the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Create a basic bodice.
- Create a fabric blueprint of the upper body.
- Draft and assemble the front and back patterns of a basic bodice based on accurate measurements.
- Refine the fit of an outfit.
- Construct different types of necklines.
- Construct a set-in short sleave.
